Alissa McKinney

Director at Mainstream Living

Alissa McKinney has over 20 years of experience in fundraising and connecting donors with their passion to help others. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Development for Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa for the UnityPoint Health Foundation, a position she has held for 14 years. Previously, she worked in political and nonprofit fundraising in Iowa and Texas, including the Terrace Hill Foundation, the Vilsack for Governor Campaign, and the SPARK Park Program in Houston, TX. A farm girl at heart, Alissa is still involved in the family farm. But what brings her the most happiness are her two daughters Emma, a graduate of Loyola University who is currently working in Washington DC and Isabel who attends University of Denver, and spending time with her life partner Matt Gannon. Alissa has been actively involved with the Plymouth Foundation, Cross Ministries, Rider Club, and as a volunteer for the Story County 4-H. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, running, traveling and spending time with family. Alissa and her family have been long-term supporters of Mainstream Living with her uncle receiving services from Mainstream Living for over 40 years.
