Njeri Ndambia

Njeri Ndambia is currently the Head of HR & Administration at MarketForce. Prior to this, they were the Head of Human Resources at Interways Works Limited from January 2017 to February 2020.

IWL is a Kenyan owned civil engineering contractor with a portfolio of construction projects across Central and East Africa, including the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a generalist, key deliverables for the Head of HR role were: formulation, implementation, and revision of the HR policy manual; payroll management; end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding; management of the employee life cycle; compensation and benefits management; HR reporting and HR planning; staff training planning; heading the disciplinary committee; handling employee grievances and labor relations; providing day-to-day HR advisory services to staff and line managers in regard to labor laws and company policy; employee welfare; casual labor management; staff performance review; union interaction and management; HR administration; and database and record management.

During their time at IWL, Njeri was responsible for setting up the entire HR department from scratch. Njeri introduced and championed various staff welfare initiatives, such as annual first aid training for field staff to deal with accidents and incidents. Njeri also created health and safety SOPs and modus operandi due to the nature of the business. Some of their other key accomplishments include setting up performance management tools, formulating and enforcing the HR policy manual currently in use, managing upwards of 800 casuals a day depending on project needs, and introducing annual first aid training for field staff.

Njeri Ndambia is a certified Human Resource professional who has a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from Makerere University Business School. Njeri has worked in the field of Human Resources Management and Services for many years and is currently a college professor teaching courses in Human Resource Management.

Njeri Ndambia reports to Tesh Mbaabu, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Lovell Larbie - VP, Engineering, Bob Atuheirwe - Country Manager, Uganda, and Roy Njoka - VP, Partnerships & Financial Services.
