Manager, Talent Support & Operations at Maze

Heather is the Manager for the Talent Support & Operations team at Maze. She joined because she was looking for an all-remote culture (having flexible work hours is important for her because she’s a night owl at heart), the competitive compensation, the ability to impact an early stage start-up, and the amazing people she works with there.


Before working at Maze, Heather worked at GitLab. While there, she learned to work in an all-remote setting before the pandemic.


“I had the opportunity to shadow and collaborate with multiple teams within the People group which allowed me to implement what I learned in my current role so that I can wear multiple hats.”


Heather values positivity and assumes positive intent when interacting with team members. She believes that a positive attitude is contagious even in a remote setting and help motivate others to also have a positive outlook on their workday.


“I try to stay flexible and understand that priorities change constantly. Being part of a tech startup, its important to be able to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and not get stuck on one thing.”


To avoid overworking, Heather keeps notifications for work apps on her phone disabled. Instead she’ll check them from time to time and respond when she can. When it’s time for family and friends, Heather makes sure to give them her full attention. Outside of work, you can find Heather discovering new local restaurants in Tampa and bingewatching shows on Netflix and HBO Max.
