McGraw-Hill, Digital Product Group (DPG) is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst. DPG is the technological hub of McGraw-Hill. We create the infrastructure that enables business units to develop the digital products our customers rely on. Our ~ 65 agile teams design, build, and maintain platforms and learning tools that support digital product-development at McGraw-Hill.

As a member of the DPG Finance team, Financial Operations Analyst will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle for agile team financial management, including budgeting, contract management, headcount management, spend, forecasting, and optimization. We are looking for a driven individual with experience in maturing Financial Operations capabilities. This person will be responsible for working with a range of internal stakeholders to design, develop and manage reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will need strong analytical, cross-team collaboration, independent thinking, and multi-tasking skills. You will get the opportunity to join the team at the beginning of Apptio TargetProcess system implementation, set standards and best practices, own the continuous improvement and success of TargetProcess models, developing new reporting and analytics, and conducting training sessions.

Your contribution to the team includes:

  • Serves as primary point person on financial reporting related to all technology investment spend including creation of dashboards and trend analyses to support forecasting of cash spend
  • Responsible for resource allocation management, reporting and interpreting on KPIs and propose action plans to close data gaps, continues process and analysis improvement.
  • Monthly Agile Team Roster maintenance for FTE’s and Contractors by linking various datasets – TargetProcess, Workday report, Fieldglass report, Contract report, Confluence, General Ledger.
  • Drive compliance with Professional Services processes (time reporting, etc.)
  • Work with data owners to identify and analyze key data sets to ensure data is accurate, useful, and received in a timely manner.
  • Ongoing review and analysis of current processes and make recommendations for improving efficiency across the organization

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science with at least three years’ experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT, Technology operations and agile methodologies. – Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to work in a matrix management environment
  • Highly adaptable and ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong prioritization skills & ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills necessary to work effectively across multiple functions and with varied levels of management, polished business acumen
  • Preferred experience with Apptio TargetProcess, ApptioOne, Jira, and TBM practice
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, execute multiple projects with competing priorities with ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
  • Proven record of Data analysis and automation – Excel, SQL, VBA, Tableau, and Alteryx
