When was the last time you experienced the impact of your work? Our Higher Education product team thrives on building meaningful relationships with educators and learners. We are seeking a new Product Manager that will drive and lead the product strategy for our World Languages higher education portfolio, with a heavy focus on digital innovation.

How can you make an impact?

Reporting into the VP of Portfolio, you will be responsible for the strategic vision, acquisition, development, and launch of new products. You will represent the voice of the customer for the market and product, use your data and insights to optimize your product mix, and ensure that our strategy is in alignment with commercial and strategic priorities. Our new Product Manager will be accountable for achieving timely, quality, and profitable product innovation whilst having direct oversight of brand-level development, including market analysis, product acquisitions, author and freelancer management and project management. You will also lead our product strategy and key flagship brands in partnership with sales and marketing.

A typical day might include:

  • Understanding market problems using relevant and focused market research and synthesis.
  • Creating research to answer key questions to inform product development and conducting customer or student outreach.
  • Synthesizing and analyzing financial, usage, and/or research data to understand market trends and product performance to create data-informed strategies.
  • Creating strategic plans, product proposals, and business cases to obtain funding to create new products or revisions to drive growth and profitability.
  • Collaborating with other teams (marketing, sales, other product managers), in guiding the timely and profitable publication of course programs with an emphasis on digital content development.
  • Partnering with marketing to develop a short and long-term growth strategy and the tactics needed to execute on these priorities.
  • Partnering with sales to assist in product demos, where content and market expertise is required.
  • Acquiring new subject matter expert talent and partnering with author teams on the timely development of high-quality print and digital content.

What can you bring to the role?

  • Experience in or with Education Technology industries. Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Strong customer-centric focus using data and analytical skills.
  • Passion for education and improving educational outcomes.
  • A natural curiosity about higher education trends and the intersection of content and technology.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to identify, prioritize and execute on business plans that will grow market share and revenue.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with language learning as higher education professor or in product builds
  • Bachelor’s degree.

The average base salary range for this position is around $90,000 annually, however, base salary pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, such as a company provided vehicle, depending on the position offered. This information is provided per the New York City Pay Transparency Bill and the Colorado Equal Pay Act.
