Sam Meckey

Sam Meckey is an accomplished healthcare executive with extensive leadership experience across various organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company since February 2024 and as a Board Member at GEM HEALTH since May 2023, Meckey previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at UpHealth, Inc. from July 2022 to October 2023. Prior roles include Executive Vice President and Head of Healthcare at EXL from November 2018 to July 2022 and President of Optum Global Solutions at UnitedHealth Group from May 2004 to June 2018, alongside several senior leadership roles within the organization. Meckey began a career in the US Navy as a P-3 Orion Pilot from May 1992 to August 2002. Academic credentials include an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics from the United States Naval Academy.
