Sumitra Nair has over 18 years of experience in the field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. Sumitra is currently a Member of Operating Council, Skills & Jobs at MDEC. Prior to that, they were with Telenor ASA - Norway as Senior Advisor - Corporate Responsibility where they led the Telenor Group Global Sustanaibility Reporting initiative. Thereafter, they joined DiGi Telecommunications as Head - Business Environment Management & Corporate Responsibility and was responsible for key initiatives such as stakeholder management, public policy, organisational transformation and Sustainability Performance Management and Reporting. Sumitra has also worked with DiGi Telecommunications as Senior - Corporate Responsibility and their key roles included managing the Corporate Responsibility, Climate Change programme and Sustainability Reporting. Post their stint with DiGi Telecommunications, they worked as Corporate Responsibility Consultant and Trainer with Sattva Management Solutions. Her last assignment was with Multimedia Development Corporation as Senior Manager - Corporate Planning.

Dr. Sumitra Nair is an expert in the field of international business, with a PhD from Monash University Malaysia, a Bachelor's in Economics from Universiti Malaya, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Sumitra also has a certification in international marketing from INSEAD. In addition, they have completed several courses on LinkedIn related to business creativity, resilience, and futurism.
