Jeffrey A. Matton

SVP, Integrated Operations at MedStar Health

Jeffrey A. Matton is senior vice president of Integrated Operations. Matton is responsible for the comprehensive oversight, direction and execution of opportunities that will drive MedStar Health to reinvent and reposition its care delivery systems and business operations to achieve ongoing effectiveness and efficiency.

Most recently, Matton served as president of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and was responsible for the hospital’s overall strategic and operational direction. He also held a system role as a senior vice president for MedStar Health. Under Matton’s tenure, the hospital built on its reputation for excellence in Orthopaedics, Nephrology, Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, and Burn Reconstruction. The hospital also advanced its care coordination services to the community with new and expanded programs such as the Center for Successful Aging, outpatient neuropsychiatric services and disease specific offerings through the Good Health Center.

Prior to this role, Matton served for three years as the hospital's senior vice president and chief operating officer. Before his time at MedStar Good Samaritan, Matton served as vice president for Professional Services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Prior to which, he served as executive director and assistant vice president of Washington Heart at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

With more than 17 years of experience, Matton has extensive senior management knowledge, including strategic expansion of specialty services, implementation of significant capital projects, quality and service performance improvement initiatives, creating physician partnerships, and developing clinical programs.

He holds a master’s of health administration from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor's of business administration with a finance concentration from The College of William and Mary. In addition, Matton has a certificate of executive leadership from the Georgetown University Center for Professional Development.

Matton is an associate member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and board member for MedStar Health Home Care.
