Ken Wakasa

Ken Wakasa is currently the VP of Product Engineering at Mercari. Ken has previously worked as a Staff Systems Software Engineer at Apple, an Engineering Director at LINE Corp, and a Lead Software Engineer also at LINE Corp. Ken Wakasa has also worked as a Staff Software Engineer at Google and as a Software Engineer at Sony and Sun Microsystems. Before all of this, Ken Wakasa was a researcher at Fujitsu.

Ken Wakasa has a Master of Engineering from The University of Tokyo in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Tokyo in Information and Communication Engineering. Ken also has a certification from Scrum Alliance in Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).

Ken Wakasa reports to Shintaro Yamada, Chief Executive Officer. They are on a team with John Lagerling - Chief Business Officer & CEO, Mercari U.S., Yuki Hamada - Chief Innovation Officer, and Aki Saarinen - CPO, Marketplace.
