Mohammad Samavatian

Mohammad Samavatian is a seasoned professional in machine learning and data science, currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Research Scientist at Meta from July 2022 to January 2025. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Scientist at AMD in early 2022 and a Data Scientist at Paylocity in mid-2020, where projects involved building recommender systems. Additional work as a Data Scientist at Nationwide involved developing a handwriting recognition model utilizing advanced machine learning techniques. Earlier in the career, Mohammad contributed to research on non-volatile memories and GPUs as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences between 2013 and 2015. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
