Charlie Yeh has extensive work experience in various fields. In 2016, they were the Founder and CEO of mFluiDx, a company developing a point-of-care molecular test. Charlie also served as a Founder at IndieBio in the same year. In 2008, they were a Second Lieutenant in the Coast Guard of Taiwan and a finalist of the Young Entrepreneurship of Future (YEF) Entrepreneurship Competition at National Tsinghua University. From 2009 to 2016, they were a Teaching Assistant and Mentor at UC Berkeley, a Graduate Student PhD Candidate, a Researcher at the Berkeley Sensor and Actuator Center, and a Researcher at the Biomolecular Nanotechnology Center. Charlie was also responsible for grant writing and grant management for a $1.5M Gates Foundation project. In 2020, they were an SBIR Phase I Grant Reviewer at the National Science Foundation (NSF), and in 2022 they were an SBIR/STTR Phase I and Phase II Grant Reviewer at the National Institutes of Health.
Charlie Yeh has a diverse educational background. Charlie attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2009 to 2015, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering (microfluidics/ Point-of-care medical devices). From 2006 to 2007, they were an exchange student at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in the field of biomedical technology. Prior to that, they attended the National Tsing Hua University from 2003 to 2008, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and System Sciences, with a major in micro-electromechanical systems. Additionally, they have undergone training in lean startup methodology at the NSF-ICORPS, as well as startup training at the CITRIS Foundry (UC Berkeley), Skydeck (UC Berkeley), and Indiebio Accelerator.
