Yolanda Harris has a diverse work experience in the field of public safety and emergency operations. Yolanda is currently serving as the Director of Public Safety and Emergency Operations at Northeastern University since July 2022. Before that, Yolanda worked at Mills College from May 2019 to July 2022, where they initially served as the Director of Public Safety and later as the Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management. Prior to their tenure at Mills College, Yolanda worked at the CSU East Bay Police Department as the Sergeant of Police and Emergency Preparedness Manager from January 2004 to May 2019. Their career in public safety began at the Oakland Police Department Special Victims Unit, where they worked as a PST from January 1999 to June 2004.
Yolanda Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from California State University - East Bay between 2015 and 2020. Yolanda also studied Communication and Media Studies at San Francisco State University from 1996 to 1999.
