April Slayden Mitchell

April Slayden Mitchell is the current Trustee at Millsaps College. April has had a long and successful career in various companies, most notably Dasera and Cisco.

April first joined Cisco in March of 2017 and quickly rose through the ranks to become the Sr. Director of Strategy & Planning - Chief of Staff, DevNet. In this role, April was responsible for leading strategy and operations for the DevNet team, which reached 500,000 community members during their tenure - making DevNet the largest networking developer community in the world.

As Chief of Staff for the DevNet and CX Ecosystem Success team, April led strategy and operations while expanding the DevNet team 600+ team including leading communications, marketing, events, and finance. Successfully guiding the team through two transformative organizational changes, their focus was on defining a strategy for success and building alignment from the executive team to each individual towards clear outcomes. During this tenure, April incubated a cross-functional team of data scientists and business analysts to deliver real-time actionable insights for the DevCX team.

Thanks to April's dedication and hard work, they have been able to achieve many successes throughout their career. Most recently, they have been appointed as a Trustee at Millsaps College - a position they are sure to excel in just as they have in all their previous roles.

April Slayden Mitchell has a certificate from Stanford Ignite in powering innovation and entrepreneurship from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. April also has a MS in computer science from the University of Rochester and a BS in computer science from Millsaps College. April is also certified in Results Management Certified (RME) from WorkBoard and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services. Finally, they are also Cisco Certified DevNet Associate from Cisco and Certified Scrum Project Owner from Scrum Alliance.
