Alex Schlichting is an experienced leader in the field of energy technologies, currently serving as Group Lead for Energy Technologies at MITRE since October 2013. In this role, Alex focuses on fostering the careers of technical staff in energy and environmental sciences while actively seeking talented individuals to work in dynamic, transdisciplinary teams. Prior to this, Alex held various engineering positions at MITRE, leading multidisciplinary teams to tackle complex projects related to power and energy systems. Alex earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, where involvement in research and teaching further developed expertise in energy systems and mechanical engineering principles. Additionally, Alex has participated in several research internships at prominent institutions such as NASA Glenn Research Center and Los Alamos National Laboratory, contributing to advancements in energy efficiency and system dynamics.
