Takuji Watanabe

Takuji Watanabe is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in international finance and credit management. Currently serving as Managing Director and Head of International Finance Credit Management at Mizuho since July 2013, Takuji has successfully navigated complex negotiations for the recovery of outstanding exposures to Russian clients while ensuring compliance with sanctions. Previously, Takuji led corporate and financial institution clients across the EMEA region at Mizuho as Managing Director, and held senior roles focusing on credit risk assessment and leveraged finance in Europe and Asia. Takuji's career began as an Economist at the Japan Center for International Finance, followed by various positions at Mizuho Corporate Bank and Fuji Bank. Takuji holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and IE Business School, as well as a BA in International Relations from Brown University.
