Amanda Jones

Barton Academy For Advanced World Studies at Mobile County Public School System

Amanda Jones, Ed.D., has extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as the Principal of Barton Academy for Advanced World Studies within the Mobile County Public School System since February 2002. This role involves overseeing Alabama’s first public school set to reopen to students in 2021. In addition, Amanda has held various positions including Coordinator of Professional Learning, Special Projects, and Innovation, as well as roles as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Amanda also contributes to higher education as an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Alabama's College of Education since May 2018, and previously at Spring Hill College from January to May 2017. Amanda holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration, an Educational Specialist degree, a Master of Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Music Teacher Education, all from the University of South Alabama.
