Yoram Gdalyahu

VP, Mapping & Localization & Co-GM, REM at Mobileye

Yoram Gdalyahu is responsible for mapping and localization at Mobileye. In this critical role, Gdalyahu’s team (jointly managed with Tal Babaioff) is responsible for creating the high-definition maps that are needed for highly and fully autonomous vehicles. Using Mobileye’s Road Experience Management™ (REM™) technology, Gdalyahu’s team uses a crowd sourcing approach to collect the data needed for the map creation and compiles that data into useful maps.

In almost 17 years at Mobileye, Gdalyahu has led mission-critical teams working on object detection and 3D inference, and for 4 years acted as VP of Algorithms Development. Gdalyahu initiated Mobileye’s REM™ program and is rolling it out to multiple OEMs around the globe. Before joining Mobileye, Gdalyahu worked for IBM research, Compugen and Samsung Electronics.

With more than three dozen pending and issued patents to his name, Gdalyahu holds a Ph.D in computer vision from the Center for Neural Computation at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as well as degrees in physics and mathematics. Away from the office, Gdalyahu enjoys traveling, skiing, and cooking.
