Thilanka Weerasekara

Thilanka Weerasekara is an accomplished professional in the telecommunications sector, currently serving as the Manager of Radio Network Planning and Optimization at Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd since August 2019. In this role, Thilanka develops and executes strategies for the deployment and modernization of 2G, 4G, and 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN) to position the company as a technology leader in Sri Lanka, while ensuring alignment with business goals through detailed forecasting and capacity planning. Previous experience includes roles as Supervisory Engineer and Engineer in Radio Network Planning & Optimization at Mobitel, Site Engineer at Huawei Technologies, and Assistant Engineer (Trainee) at both Sri Lanka Telecom and Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation. Thilanka holds a Bachelor of the Science of Engineering (BScEng) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, complemented by advanced and ordinary level qualifications from St. Thomas' College Matale.
