Amy Levine

Chief Conservation Officer

Amy Levine serves as the Chief Conservation Officer at Mojave Desert Land Trust since October 2025 and is also a National Geographic Expeditions Expert with the National Geographic Society since September 2024. In addition, Amy is the Founder and President of Conservation Impact, a role held since February 2022, and previously directed conservation efforts at Island Conservation from April 2022 to October 2025. Amy's extensive experience at Denver Zoological Foundation spanned from 2000 to 2023, where multiple roles included Research Associate and Director of Field Conservation Programs. Academia has been a significant part of Amy's career, with positions as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder and a Visiting Instructor at Colorado College. Education includes a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MA in Anthropology from Kent State University, complemented by a BS in Anthropology & Natural Resources from Michigan State University.
