San Francisco - February 2021 - Moovit, an Intel company, a leading Mobility as a Service(MaaS) solutions provider and creator of the #1 urban mobility app, is announcing the hire of Jeff Zarr as Director of Sales Engineering. Zarr brings his 35 years of experience in the transportation industry to Moovit, focusing on demand-response mobility solutions.
He will lead the American Sales Engineering team, leveraging his technical and practical knowledge and expertise to contribute to Moovit’s growing customer base in the US. Moovit On-Demand is a complementary service to traditional modes of public transportation.
The dynamically routed transit system automatically assigns multiple passengers heading in the same direction to a shared vehicle to transport them around the city. Transit agencies, cities, and private companies can choose between pre-scheduled transit or mobility on-demand models to digitize their operations and offer the most accurate and efficient flexible microtransit service. Jeff Zarr has worked in the transportation industry for 35 years, mainly focusing on demand-response mobility solutions in North America. His expertise comes from providing consulting services for over 100 transit agencies worldwide, working for urban transportation research firms, public transit authorities, service providers, and mobility software vendors. Before joining Moovit, Zarr worked as a senior consultant at Trapeze Group for eight years, in addition to the 11 years he previously worked at Trapeze from 1999-2010. Zarr also worked as a Special Projects Manager for MV Transportation, performing corporate consulting for public transportation agencies throughout North America.
With Jeff Zarr’s hire, Moovit is further heightening its position in the US urban mobility market, expanding its On-Demand solution.
