Prior to his retirement in 2018, Mr. Ryan was Vice President of Global Exploration at [Chevron](/org/chevron-corporation) Corporation, where he was responsible for the company’s multi-billion dollar worldwide exploration program for 15 years. He was also a member of upstream and corporate executive leadership teams. As the Texaco lead on the Upstream Integration Team for the [Chevron](/org/chevron-corporation) and Texaco merger in 2000 to 2001, he played a key role in redesigning [Chevron](/org/chevron-corporation)’s global exploration program.

Mr. Ryan’s extensive career first began in 1979 as an offshore geologist with Texaco. He held a variety of technical and management positions in exploration and production, including Gulf of Mexico Exploration Manager, prior to becoming General Manager – International Exploration for [Chevron](/org/chevron-corporation) in 2001. In 1990, he was appointed to the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Conservation and Renewable Energy in the [U.S. Department of Energy](/org/u-s-department-of-energy), where he was involved in policy issues related to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Mr. Ryan has held several industry leadership roles and is currently a member of the Board of Advisors at the School of Science and Engineering at [Tulane University](/org/tulane-university). He earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Geology, both from [Tulane University](/org/tulane-university).

Robert N. Ryan Jr.

Jumawan joined Murphy in 2013 as Senior Manager, Corporate Planning, and has held several roles in the finance department, including Assistant Treasurer and Vice President, Corporate Planning and Finance, before being elected to his current role in 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston.

He joined Murphy in 1998 in the finance department and has held roles with increasing responsibility, including Vice President, Finance, E&P, before being promoted to Vice President, Finance, Offshore, in 2015, and Vice President and Controller, US, Central and South America in 2017 for Murphy’s wholly owned subsidiary, Murphy Exploration & Production Company. Vaughan was elected to his current role in July 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Samford University.

Christopher D. Hulse serves as Vice President. In 2015, Hulse joined a wholly-owned subsidiary of Murphy as Vice President Finance, Onshore and was later elected to Vice President, Finance Projects bringing with him over 18 years of accounting, finance, planning and strategy experience from a global oil and natural gas company. In addition to his extensive energy industry experience, Hulse also worked for a major accounting firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Bath, United Kingdom and is designated as a Chartered Accountant by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Mr. Botner joined Murphy’s Law Department in 2001 as an Attorney. Over his 19-year career with the company, he has held several positions with increasing responsibilities in the US and Malaysia, including Commercial Manager for Murphy Sarawak and General Manager, Malaysia, culminating in his current position of Vice President, Law and Secretary. Mr. Botner earned bachelor’s degrees in arts and business administration from the University of Texas, a Master of Business Administration from [Southern Methodist University](/org/southern-methodist-university) and a law degree from the University of Arkansas.
