Leonid Zaslavsky

Leonid Zaslavsky is a data scientist at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), since 2007, with prior experience as a senior scientific programmer and analyst at NCBI and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from 2001 to 2007, and as a scientific programmer at Cray from 1997 to 2000. Zaslavsky's academic background includes post-doctoral research at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at New York University and the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, alongside a Ph.D. in mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and software from the Institute of Mathematical Modeling at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Educational qualifications also include an M.Sc. in applied mathematics from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and a high school diploma focused on advanced placement courses in mathematics and physics.
