Keith Odom

As vice president and fellow, Keith Odom collaborates with proven technologists and strategists from across the company to create long-term innovation across R&D. In addition, he directs NI’s architecture and technology group, a team of highly respected senior engineers who develop new architectures and platforms and serve as technical leads.

Odom has led NI to success with ASIC and FPGA design, which resulted in more than 50 patents in areas that include bus interfacing, hardware/software interaction, reconfigurable I/O, and timing/synchronization. Additionally, he was instrumental in developing key architectures including the NI-STC, a device system timing controller for NI DAQ devices; the CompactDAQ modular DAQ system; the NI Synchronization and Memory Core architecture for the company’s high-speed modular instruments; PXI; LabVIEW FPGA; and bus interfaces for NI PCI, USB, and PCI Express devices.

In 2006, Odom was elected an Outstanding Young Engineering Graduate for The University of Texas at Austin, an honor bestowed for distinguished contributions in the realms of professional accomplishment, community service, and service to the Cockrell School of Engineering. Odom has also served on the Advisory Council for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

Odom holds a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering with a focus on VLSI design and computer architecture and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a computer engineering specialization from The University of Texas at Austin along with a master’s degree in education technology from Texas A&M University.
