Heather Caven

Heather Caven is an experienced collections management professional with a demonstrated history of leadership in various esteemed institutions. Currently serving as Head of Collections - Management and Information at the National Trust since March 2020, Heather has previously held significant roles, including Interim General Manager at Chirk Castle and Erddig, Director of Conservation and Collections Management at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Head of Collections Services at National Museums Scotland. With a strong background in collections management, conservation, and documentation, Heather has successfully led teams to develop and implement strategic policies and plans across several organizations, including the National Maritime Museum and The Royal Collection. Heather's educational qualifications include an MBA Essentials Certificate from the London School of Economics, a Diploma in Intellectual Property from the Institute of Art and Law, a B.A. in Art History from The Courtauld Institute of Art, and a Diploma in Law and Collections Management with Distinction from the Institute of Art and Law.
