Koen Bertens

Koen Bertens is a Science and Technology Advisor at Natural Resources Canada since March 2022, with prior experience as an Applications Engineer at Iridian Spectral Technologies and as a Master's student at the University of Toronto, where a Master's thesis on simulation-assisted colloidal quantum dot solar cell band alignment was completed. Educational qualifications include a Master of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's degree in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Koen's research background encompasses a wide range of topics, including improvements in light absorption of perovskite solar cells, development of wireless biosensors for health monitoring, and innovative methods for lithium-ion battery applications, as well as hands-on experience with various engineering projects in academic and industry settings.
