Mohamed Omer has extensive work experience in the consumer, product, and media intelligence industry. Mohamed has been in the field since 1998, when they began working as a Forensic Criminalist III for the NYPD. In 2001, they moved to Colgate Palmolive as a Senior Research Scientist. Mohamed then joined Unilever in 2010 as a Principal Scientist. In 2013, they became a Global Personal Care Analyst at Mintel, a leading global supplier of consumer, product, and media intelligence. In 2015, they were promoted to Associate Vice President - Strategic Foresight & Innovation at L'Oréal. In 2016, they became the R&D Hair Category Manager at Revlon. In 2018, they became Co-Founder of Sudan NextGen and Chief Scientific Officer at NaturAll Club.

Mohamed Omer attended Comboni College from 1984 to 1985, where they received an O' Level in Mathematics. Mohamed then attended Khartoum University from 1985 to 1989, where they received a BSc in Chemistry. Mohamed continued their education at Iowa State University from 1991 to 1996, where they received an MSc in Physical Chemistry. In 2016, they attended The Wright Foundation for the Realization of Human potential, where they completed a Year of Transformation program which included Social and Emotional Intelligence Training and Leadership & Transformation Coursework. Most recently, in 2020, they attended the MIT Sloan School of Management, where they completed a 3 Month Program in Corporate Innovation: Strategies for Leveraging Ecosystems.
