Virginia King has extensive experience in child welfare, currently serving as a Program Consultant for Safety and Prevention/Child Welfare at the NC Department of Health and Human Services since April 2021. In this role, Virginia manages supervisors responsible for overseeing child protective services assessors and in-home social workers who support abused, neglected, and dependent children and their families. Prior to this position, Virginia worked at WCHS as a Child Welfare Program Manager from September 1989 to January 2022. Virginia holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University.
