WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ndp | analytics, a strategic economic and communication research firm, announced today that Daniel Ikenson has joined the firm as director of policy research. With more than 30 years’ experience in international trade and investment policy, Ikenson will help further position the firm as a leading business advisor to the global trade industry.
Announcing the appointment, Nam Pham, managing partner of ndp | analytics, stated, “We are thrilled that Dan has joined our growing team. His extensive knowledge of international trade and investment, coupled with his deep understanding of the mechanics of global trade and its rules and institutions, will be highly additive to our current and future clients.” Pham added, “There is a great deal of uncertainty today in the international commercial environment, and businesses worldwide will need to work with experts like Dan to navigate these hurdles.”
“International trade is facing strong headwinds over the next few years, as businesses, investors, and governments try to adjust for the risks presented by pandemics, climate change, rising protectionism, U.S.-China tensions, and other demographic and geopolitical developments weighing on the global economy,” Ikenson noted. “With these uncertainties, however, lie opportunities. Pioneering businesses will find better ways to operate — to tack successfully into these headwinds.” He further said, “I look forward to wedding the firm’s business model and expertise with my own experiences to ensure our clients’ voices are heard.”
Ikenson, a renowned authority on globalization, manufacturing, supply chains, technology, and the rules-based trading system, spent over 20 years as a scholar at the Cato Institute. During his tenure, he authored dozens of studies and papers and provided expert testimony to Congressional committees, federal regulators, and state agencies. Most recently, Ikenson served as director of Cato’s Herbert A. Stiefel Center for Trade Policy Studies, where he led a team of attorneys, economists, and political scientists conducting trade policy research.
