Sister Vivienne Joyce

Trustee at The New York Foundling

The Foundling was Sr. Joyce’s first assignment as a Sister of Charity. She worked in intake with children who came in on an emergency basis and would often reside at the Foundling until placement. After moving on to work with foster children and families, she left the Foundling to live and work in a neighborhood in the lower east side of Manhattan. Since then Sr. Joyce has been educating social workers, pastoral counselors and spiritual directors. Sr. Joyce is a member of the program quality committee of the Board and feels privileged to witness many transformations in services offered at The Foundling in an effort to respond most effectively to the needs of children and their families. The executive team seeks to use the best available knowledge to design and provide quality care.
