Maryam Ravan

Faculty

Maryam Ravan, PhD, SMIEEE, currently serves as Summer Visiting Faculty at Brookhaven National Laboratory since June 2024 and has been a faculty member at the New York Institute of Technology since 2017. Previous experience includes a role as Sr. Research Scientist at Cyberonics from May 2013 to July 2017, focusing on quantitative biomarkers for vagus nerve stimulation therapy in epileptic patients. At Raytheon Canada, DRDC, and the University of Toronto from August 2009 to April 2013, Maryam Ravan worked as a Research Fellow on moving targets detection utilizing radar data. Additional Research Fellow positions included developing machine learning methodologies for analyzing brain activity at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and conducting research on EEG signals at McMaster University. Maryam Ravan also lectured on computational courses at McMaster University and contributed research at Ryerson University on power spectrum density estimators. The educational background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University.
