VP, Information Technology at New York Jets

TOM MURPHY, now in his 24th year with the New York Jets, begins his 11th as the vice president, of information technology.

Murphy is responsible for the design, development and implementation of all organizational information systems, software applications, IT support and infrastructure systems. In addition to his responsibilities with the Jets, Murphy oversees all technology at The Johnson Company.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Murphy and his staff planned and implemented the virtual connection of the entire organization, educating staff on remote access and solving for their varying ability to connect from home. The IT staff also helped General Manager Joe Douglas in the lead-up to the Draft as football personnel was able to conduct pre-draft visits virtually. Douglas was also connected to his staff via a virtual draft room during the 2020 NFL Draft that allowed for seamless communication and the completion of multiple trades, as nine total selections were made. Following the Draft, the coaching staff was able to connect with the player and conduct their entire off-season program virtually.
