Jason Sobel is the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at The New York Times. Jason has over 17 years of experience in the technology industry and has held various leadership positions at some of the world's largest companies. Jason started their career as a Member of Technical Staff at NetApp and later became an RA at Industrial Light & Magic. Jason then went on to Facebook where they spent 6 years as an Engineering Director, leading teams in the Infrastructure, Mobile, and Ads organizations. After Facebook, Jason spent 2 years as the Vice President of Engineering at Quantifind before joining Airbnb in 2016 as the Head of Infrastructure. Jason has been with The New York Times since 2021.

Jason Sobel received a ScM in Computer Science from Brown University and an AB in Computer Science from Brown University.
