Manuel Herrera

Manuel Herrera is a Doctoral College Fellow at Newcastle University, focusing on civil and geospatial engineering since September 2024. Previously, Manuel served as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Hydrology at the University of Cambridge from September 2018 to September 2025, where responsibilities included research collaboration, leadership in Modelling Risk modules, and supervision in the Engineering Tripos. Experience also includes roles as a Research Associate in Distributed Intelligent Systems at the University of Bath from September 2015 to August 2018, and prior positions at Imperial College London, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, and INSA de Rouen, alongside a strong academic background with a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering and Environmental Studies from Universitat Politècnica de València.
