George Afriyie

George Afriyie is a Senior Dams and Tailings Engineer at Newmont Corporation since October 2022, previously serving as a Dam and Tailings Engineer at Newmont Australia from March 2020 to December 2022. Prior experience includes the role of Dam Safety Engineer at Teck Resources Limited from February 2015 to March 2020, and Graduate Research Assistant at Carleton University between September 2012 and November 2014. Early career experiences consist of working as a Junior Civil Engineer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi from August 2011 to August 2012, and as an Intern at Twum Boafo and Partners Consulting Engineers in May 2008. George Afriyie holds a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Carleton University (2012-2014) and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (2007-2011).
