Laura Chalmers

Laura Chalmers is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in editorial roles at major media outlets. Currently serving as the Editor in Chief of Weekend Magazine at News Corp Australia since November 2021, Laura oversees multiple publications including Sydney Weekend and QWeekend. Laura's career at The Courier-Mail began in December 2013, encompassing roles such as Editor of QWeekend Magazine, Editor of U on Sunday Magazine, and News Editor of The Sunday Mail. Previous positions include Press Secretary for Julia Gillard during her time as Prime Minister and for Senator Penny Wong, as well as political reporting at The Advertiser. Laura Chalmers holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide.
