Riley Munks

Head of Guild at NFX

Riley has spent more than 6 years helping startups tell their story. At NFX, he supports the entire Guild with PR strategy as they scale from preseed to beyond. He has worked with our companies to secure articles in TechCrunch, Forbes, Business Insider, Wall Street Journal, and other key business and trade publications. He works closely with our Founders to ensure they have a compelling and consistent story across all forms of communications including their website, social media, press releases, and news coverage.


Prior to NFX, Riley led PR efforts at BICO, a publicly-traded life science conglomerate where he supported the 14 subsidiaries with public relations, public affairs, and communications needs. While there he secured 120+ articles in key outlets and took point on major financial announcements including acquisitions, quarterly earnings reports, fundraising news, and others.


Riley also spent two years at VSC, a San Francisco-based PR agency where he led accounts for several NFX companies including Mammoth Biosciences, C2i Genomics, Firefly, Latitude, and others. During his tenure at VSC, Riley brought more than a dozen early-stage startups out of stealth and supported with funding announcements as large as $1 billion.


He started his career at APCO Worldwide, a global public relations and strategic communications agency based in Washington, DC, where he also received a master’s degree from George Washington University. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Chapman University in Orange County, CA.
