Harald Hofgaard

Harald Hofgaard is an experienced legal professional currently serving as an Adviser in the Legal Department at Norges Bank since June 2023. Since January 2020, Hofgaard has also been an External Examiner at UiT Norges arktiske universitet in the Faculty of Law. Previous roles include Legal Counsel at Nordea from October 2022 to May 2023, and Adviser for the Financial Markets Department at the Finansdepartementet from January 2022 to October 2022. Prior to that, Hofgaard held a position as a Higher Executive Officer at Finanstilsynet from January 2020 to January 2022, specializing in regulatory matters related to insurance and finance. Hofgaard's earlier experience includes internships at Protector Forsikring ASA and Wiersholm, as well as contributions to various legal committees and projects during academic years. Educational qualifications include a Master of Laws from UiT- The Arctic University of Norway and an exchange semester at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. Additionally, Hofgaard serves as Deputy Chairman of Finanstilsynet’s sport association since April 2021.
