Jean-Charles Baranger

Maintenance & Inspection Manager at North Oil Company Qatar

Jean-Charles Baranger has a extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Jean-Charles started their career as a Mechanical Engineer at TOTAL E&P Angola in 2003, where they worked until 2005. Jean-Charles then moved to Total E&P Cameroun, where they served as the Head of Maintenance from 2005 to 2006. From 2006 to 2009, they worked at TOTAL E&P NIGERIA, where they held the position of Head of Maintenance and was responsible for methods and technical support for offshore oil fields.

In 2009, Baranger joined Yemen LNG Company as a Maintenance Manager. In this role, they led the methods, execution, preparation, and planning of maintenance and inspection activities. Jean-Charles also played a key role in setting up the organization, ensuring reliability of the plant, and managing budget, contract, and HR matters. Jean-Charles continued in this position until 2012.

Baranger then moved to TOTAL, where they worked as the Maintenance Inspection Leader for the KAOMBO Project from 2012 to 2014. Following that, they joined TOTAL E&P Angola as a Maintenance Manager and worked there until 2018, before joining North Oil Company Qatar as the Maintenance & Inspection Manager.

Jean-Charles Baranger has a strong educational background in the field of mechanical engineering. Jean-Charles started their education in 1990, attending the DUT Génie Mécanique, where they obtained a DUT degree. Jean-Charles then furthered their studies at the Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers, from 1993 to 1996, earning a degree in Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance Technology.
