Dan Kennedy is a Professor of Journalism at Northeastern University, a position held since September 2004. Kennedy has been actively involved in journalism since the mid-1990s, beginning as the media columnist for the Boston Phoenix, where coverage of local and national media earned several accolades, including the National Press Club’s Arthur Rowse Award for Press Criticism in 2001 and the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies’ Media Reporting Award in 1999. Prior to the Boston Phoenix, Kennedy worked as a Senior Writer for The Daily Times Chronicle from January 1979 to March 1989. Educational background includes a Master of Liberal Arts in American History from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in History from Northeastern University.
