Lopa Mishra

Lopa Mishra currently holds the position of Merinoff Endowed Chair and Co-Director at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, and Research (IBEM FIMR) at Northwell Health, a role held since May 2021. Prior experience includes serving as Director of the Center for Translational Medicine from September 2015 to April 2022, and as Professor and Chair of the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where the department ranked in the top 25 for subspecialty care from 2009 to 2011. Lopa Mishra's earlier roles include Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center, Director of Digestive Diseases at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Associate Professor at Temple University Hospital. Academic training includes a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Developmental Biology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, residency in Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and an internship at Royal Free Hospital, along with earning an MBBS from the University of London.
