Tayla Burney

Tayla Burney is an accomplished media professional with a diverse background in programming, production, and journalism. Currently serving as the Director of Network Programming and Production at NPR since January 2019, Tayla oversees short-form audio content production and contributes to strategic initiatives while mentoring staff. Prior to this role, Tayla held positions including Senior Manager of Programming and Production at NPR and Interim Events Manager at WAMU 88.5, where event strategies and community representation were key responsibilities. Additionally, Tayla has experience as a freelance journalist, moderator, and consultant, conducting author interviews and creating content for various publications. Earlier career roles include Senior Producer and Associate Producer at HearSay with Cathy Lewis. Tayla holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Suffolk University.
