Rachel Watson

Rachel Watson has extensive experience in planning and environmental management, currently serving as Project Director for Metro Water Priorities and previously as Manager of Metro Strategies at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment since October 2022. Rachel's earlier roles include over a decade at the Institute for Sustainable Futures as a Research Consultant and PhD Researcher, focusing on sustainable development. Prior experience encompasses strategic analysis and policy development at Sydney Water in various capacities, including Senior Technical Advisor and Senior Water Cycle Planner, as well as environmental management roles at Collex and engineering expertise at SMEC. Rachel holds a PhD in Sustainable Futures from the University of Technology Sydney, a Master's in Environmental Law from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering from UNSW.
