Oliver Ray

Oliver Ray is the current Managing Director at number8. Prior to this, they were the Technology Leader at Milliman from January 2016 to February 2018. In this role, they served as the consulting project manager for Life Technology Solutions U.S. Professional Services team. Oliver was responsible for multiple concurrent client engagements that leveraged a cross-functional team of actuaries and data scripters (~ 15 team members). The primary focus of these engagements was transformation, with an implementation of a Microsoft Azure based cloud application – Integrate. The goal of these implementations was to automate work-flows, Reporting, and data-driven decision making in order to help clients understand results and work with real-time information through valuation cycles. Oliver also created assets to assist in cultural change, process reengineering, and team reorganization in order to support client leadership in driving the transformation required to successfully implement systems industrialization. This process included the automation of production processes and reengineering of operating models. Oliver determined required systems enhancements from internal team members and client feedback; then worked with product development team to prioritize and coordinate new product releases with clients. In this role, they also managed a highly distributed team that was spread out across the US, UK, and multiple cities in each country.

Oliver Ray has a BSBA from the University of Louisville in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Web Development. Oliver also has a degree from the University of Kentucky in Decision Sciences. Oliver has a High School Diploma from ST XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL and is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional and by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Master.

Oliver Ray reports to David Easterling, CEO. They work with Bryan Fernandez - HR Director, Tessa Plummer - Director of Sales, and Ian Massey - Director, Development.
