Gareth Waldron

Gareth Waldron is a seasoned expert in non-clinical safety and pharmacology, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of Preclinical Development at Nxera Pharma since July 2018. Prior to this, Gareth held various significant positions including Head of Non-Clinical Safety at MISSION Therapeutics and Non-Clinical Safety Lead at Neusentis, where responsibilities included establishing safety strategies for ion channel and sensory targets. With extensive experience at Pfizer spanning over a decade, Gareth contributed as Global Discipline Lead for Safety Pharmacology, overseeing scientific strategy across multiple domains, and managed CNS/general pharmacology studies. Gareth's educational background includes a PhD in Pharmacology, postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Calgary and the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in Physiology with Pharmacology from the University of Southampton.
