Lisa Coleman

SVP for Global Inclusion, Diversity & Strategic Innovation at New York University

Lisa Coleman is the current Senior Vice President for Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation at New York University. Prior to this, they were the Chief Diversity Officer and Special Assistant to the President at Harvard University from February 2010 to August 2017. Before their time at Harvard, Lisa Coleman was at Tufts University from January 2000 to December 2010 as Africana and Institutional Diversity. And before that, they were an Independent Technology/Computer Consultant from August 1992 to August 2001 where they provided consultation to private clients.

Lisa Coleman's educational career includes a PhD in Social and Cultural Analysis - American Studies from New York University, a BA in Sociology (with a focus on computer science) from Denison University, and M.A.s in Gender, Sexuality Womens Studies; African / African American Studies; and Communication Studies from The Ohio State University.

They are on a team with Lynne P. Brown - SVP for University Relations and Public Affairs, MJ Knoll-Finn - SVP for Enrollment Management, and Richard S. Baum - Chief of Staff to the President. Lisa Coleman reports to Andrew Hamilton, President.
