Caryn Reed-Hendon, Ph.D., currently serves on the Graduate School Advisory Board at Oakland University since October 2020. Previously, Caryn was the Founding Director at Lawrence Technological University from October 2020 to August 2024 and held the position of Founding Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine from March 2011 to October 2020. In this role, Caryn focused on recruiting underrepresented students, enhancing academic success, and implementing strategic program evaluations. Caryn's experience also includes being a Board of Trustees Member for The Tyler Clementi Foundation from May 2017 to May 2020 and serving as the Assistant Director for Orientation Programs at the University of Michigan-Dearborn from November 2006 to March 2011. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Oakland University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Michigan.
