James Cashmore

James Cashmore is the current Chief Risk Officer at OakNorth, a position they have held since 2015. Prior to this, they were an independent contractor from January to April 2015. From April 2010 to November 2014, Cashmore served as the Chief Operating Officer of Risk at Williams & Glyn. In this role, they oversaw the day-to-day operations of the risk department and was responsible for the design of a new Target Operating Model for the Risk function. Cashmore has extensive experience in the financial industry, with a focus on risk management. James has a proven track record of successfully managing risk and improving risk metrics.

James Cashmore has a MA in Modern Theirtory from the University of Oxford, an Associate from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, an MBA with distinction from Aston University, and an Executive Development Programme from INSEAD.

Their manager is Rishi Khosla, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. They are on a team with Ben Barbanel - Head of Debt Finance, Nick Lee - Head of Regulatory Affairs, and Rajesh Gupta - Chief Financial Officer. A direct report to James Cashmore is and Neil Evans - Head of Credit Risk.
