Mike Spooner

Mike Spooner is a seasoned professional currently serving as Senior Adviser to the CEO and Chair at the Office for Students since August 2019, where responsibilities include managing the Chief Executive's office, delivering strategic projects, and overseeing key external relationships. Previously, Mike held roles such as Officer in the Strategic Resources Unit at the same organization, contributing to high-risk projects and regulatory policy work. Prior experience includes a Technical Regulatory Coordinator position at Lonza, overseeing chemical testing projects, and serving as an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, managing research and collaborations. Mike holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Chemistry, both obtained from the University of Southampton.
