Barbara Turner, CRCP, has more than 35 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry. After joining Ohio National in 1997, she steadily rose to a diverse range of executive positions and in November 2018 became Ohio National’s 11th president and chief operating officer and the first woman and person of color to serve in this role. She was elected to Ohio National’s board of directors in December 2019 and on January 1, 2021, she became president and chief executive officer.

She has served as the company’s vice chairman and chief administrative officer as well as the annuities strategic business unit head. Prior to this, she was the president and chief executive officer of The O.N. Equity Sales Company (ONESCO) and O.N. Investment Management Company (ONIMCO) and senior vice president, chief compliance officer of Ohio National. 

She began her career in banking and served as the operations, trading and systems manager for Reynolds DeWitt Securities. 

A Cincinnati native, Ms. Turner attended the [University of Cincinnati](/org/university-of-cincinnati) and is a graduate of the [SIFMA](/org/sifma)/Wharton Securities Industry Institute (SII). She was the first female in the United States to complete the FINRA/Wharton Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional (CRCP) program.

Ms. Turner and her husband Daman Turner have three adult children and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, as well as traveling, cooking, reading and attending local arts events. She has a special passion for mentoring at-risk teenage girls and single mothers, and helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency and financial security and independence.



Barbara A. Turner

Danielle Ivory, ACS, joined Ohio National in 2001 as a new business issue associate. In 2019, she advanced to her current role as senior vice president, operations, responsible for life, annuity, retirement plans and disability income (DI) business line operations. Prior to that, she held many positions in both marketing support and operations management including manager of the life and DI call center in 2008-2010; director of policyowner services and customer service from 2010-2011; vice president of new business and policyowner services (life and DI); and became vice president of insurance operations in 2016. Danielle has a reputation for delivering outstanding results, cultivating an environment of continuous improvement, process and technology optimization and building lasting relationships. She has proven her ability to execute on measures that reduce unit cost while increasing operational efficiency and maximizing staffing capacity.

Danielle received her FINRA Series 6 designation in 2010 and her Associate, Customer Service (ACS) designation in 2015.

She is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and received her Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in 2007.

Chris Smith joined Ohio National as a full-time associate in 2020 and is responsible for managing Ohio National’s strategic planning process. Working with the president and chief executive officer, he helps develop, communicate, execute and sustain corporate strategic initiatives, while also overseeing project and vendor management operations and providing financial and analytical support.

Prior to joining Ohio National Chris had accumulated over twenty-five years of experience in corporate accounting/finance, information technology, strategic planning and program management in both the private and public sector.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Chris Smith

Jay Bley joined Ohio National in 1999 as compliance director of The O.N. Equity Sales Company (ONESCO) and was promoted to ONESCO’s chief compliance officer from 2004-2012. He then became its chief operating officer until 2015, and then vice president, national sales. In May 2021, Jay became vice president, annuity sales and strategy at Ohio National, and most recently was promoted to senior vice president, annuity distribution and sales. He is responsible for annuity product development, strategy and managing the fund lineup. Jay has demonstrated an ability to build relationships with distributors, grow revenues and manage profitability.

Prior to joining Ohio National, Jay worked for Fidelity Investments in its retail brokerage operations.

He received his undergraduate degree from Miami University.

Jay Bley

Pat joined Ohio National in 2014 as president and chief executive officer of ONESCO, the company’s affiliated broker/dealer. He was promoted to his current position in July 2022. Prior to Ohio National, Pat served for more than 20 years as president and chief executive officer at two major broker/dealers. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.


Pat McEvoy

Scott Shepherd, FSA, MAAA, CFA, is senior vice president and chief risk officer. He joined Ohio National in June 2019 as vice president and head of valuation, bringing more than 20 years of actuarial and valuation experience. Scott’s strategic actuarial insights and expansive expertise in the industry will help guide Ohio National into the future, building on the company’s history of financial strength and prudent risk and capital management.

Prior to joining Ohio National, Scott was with Voya Financial as vice president and head of corporate actuarial valuation.

He is a graduate of Utah State University.

Scott N. Shepherd

Bill Price, JD, joined Ohio National in 2002 as vice president and counsel and most recently was senior vice president and general counsel. He was promoted to executive vice president and general counsel in 2021. Since joining the organization, Bill has had a meaningful impact on most areas of the company, and most recently was focused on capital management, reinsurance, the company’s international subsidiaries and captive insurance companies.

Prior to joining Ohio National, he was a partner with Wood & Lamping where he began his law career in 1990 with a significant part of his practice devoted to representing life and disability insurers.

He is a graduate of DePauw University and received his Juris Doctor (JD) from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Xavier University.

William C. Price

Michelle joined Ohio National in 2011 as a compensation analyst and was promoted to her current position in January 2020. She holds certifications from the Society of Human Sources and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits.

Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati.

Michelle Wilson

David joined Ohio National in 2014 as senior vice president for Latin America and is responsible for all Ohio National operations in this region, including financial performance, budgeting, capital management, marketing and distribution, as well as working with the company’s joint venture partners. Additionally, he built and manages a Latin America regional management team and headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

David is a graduate of [Florida State University](/org/florida-state-university) and has more than 17 years of experience in the industry focusing on the Latin American region. He spent more than 10 years with American International Group (AIG), including the position of regional personal lines head for Latin America. He was also general manager for AIG’s Mexican extended warranty company, Garanplus, and was based in Mexico City. Most recently, he was senior vice president for personal lines in Latin America with ACE Group in Santiago, Chile.
