Saacnicteh Toledo is a Principal Investigator at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology since December 2019, specializing in Molecular Bioengineering and engineering protein wires for electron transfer in electroactive microbes. Previously, Saacnicteh served as an Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellow focusing on volume microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Cryo-EM, and marine ecology and evolution, as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher concentrating on protein engineering and evolution. Saacnicteh's research experience includes a tenure as a PhD student and researcher at the Max Planck Institutes Tübingen from January 2013 to April 2016, along with earlier work as an undergraduate research assistant at the same institution. Educational credentials include a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Tübingen and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacology from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo.
